Zone 9 Mini-Jamboree Report
Zone 9 mini-jamboree, which was held on October 24, 2010. This year’s jamboree was held at North Hill bowling center in Marietta, Ohio. This was a blind doubles tournament. You drew a partner from a hat.
The tournament was based on 100% of 440 based on last year’s average.
The tournament was only for officers and directors from each association in zone 9 of the Ohio State Bowling Association.
There were 32 entries this year or 16 pairs of doubles. We used a pay out system of 1 in 5.
After drawing partners we bowled 3 games. After bowling we had a great lunch provided by the host city’s association. After lunch we conducted a short meeting and any an all topics were up for discussion.
It seems as though we have the same problems within our zone and they can talk freely about how they handled the problem in their association. I try to bring every association up to date on tournaments and current events on bowling.
This year I stressed the Ohio State BA’s web-site and the steps they could take to receive e-mail blast.
After the meeting we give out the trophies and prize money.
This year’s jamboree was the larges turn-out in the 5 years we have held the event. The bowlers look forward to the tournament each year.
This year we gave out trophies for 1st place and 2nd place and paid four places.
!st place went to: Rick Hutchins (Zanesville) and Rick Williams(Woodsfield) with a score of 1497 (trophies and $100.00)

2nd place Dale Goins (Zanesville) and Mark Robinson Jr. (Washington Co.) with a score of 1469 ( trophies and $ 60.00)

We would like to express our appreciation to the Ohio State BA for their support
Dale Goins
